Who knew this was so funny? I loved this first graphic novel instalment of TMI! *big shock* I have never read any of Cassandra Clare's books, (despite owning the whole TMI and TID series) but I wanted to try out TMI in graphic novel format first before I fully committed myself to the novels which are waaay thicker.
Maybe the series will be more enjoyable for me if I read these volumes rather than the books themselves? Time will tell.more I liked the artwork and fast pacing throughout. Just from reading this visual edition, I understood the characters and the story-line a lot easier than before. I preferred this graphic novel format to the novel City of Bones (which I read a while back and only gave 3 stars to!) so here is why I preferred this more. Just going to warn you now readers, it is controversial opinion time. Maybe the series will be more enjoyable for me if I read these v Currently available to read via Kindle Unlimited! Otherwise, no complaints! I wish I had read this earlier, honestly.Ĭurrently available to read via Kindle Unlimited! Just going to warn you now readers, it is controversial opinion time.
I definitely wouldn’t read this instead of reading the book, but if you want to experience it in a new way this is a good way to do it! The only thing that was weird to me was Jace, for some reason he just seemed different in the graphic novel than the books. I loved the way this was written, I think it did a great job of prioritizing the important information and cutting out the details that couldn’t fit.
Also, it was super cool to see how some of the side characters looked because I wasn’t quite sure how to imagine them! Honestly, I don’t even need to say much, Cassandra Jean’s art is always fantastic. I'm salty it wasn't the full version OKAY The drawings sometimes seemed off, I don't know how to put it, I'd seen Cassandra Jeans previous work and it wasn't like what she had drawn before for the series. We got quite a lot of information and it was really easy to follow CHURCH! Anytime I see anything church related I can't help but smile. The height difference between Jace and Clary was so cute! Little bits of pieces, there's a book on Peru in Magnus's room which was very fitting! We got to see the Falcon story Jace tells Clary It's just a shame it's not the full version and there's a second part. It was okay to say this is my first ever Graphic Novel.
